Beware - Powder Coating + Half - Fords Paint

First I must say this is NOT a go at those nice people at Luego.
Its more to stop someone else doing the same or worse.

I have fitted my brake pipes, and I was just putting a quick dob of paint in the hole, as it was bare metal inside the newly drilled hole.

I left it and went for a tea break, only to find my nice new powder coating bubbling up.

So be warned, Dont use Half-Fords (own brand) Black Spray Paint on your nice new shiny powder coated chassis, unless you like a "Black Crackle" paint finish.

I'm feeling a bit now, as it was a bad ending to a good day.
More piccies on my Brake pipes to be loaded to my picture space.

I agree... I would have preferred it to be so small you couldnt see it or not happen at all. Never Mind its done now, its only about an inch across. Just something I dont need... ie another job.

never mind, it'll distract people from your wavy brake pipe

you probably can't see it when it's done anyway. i've had a fair few bits like that and can't remember half of them, let alone see them. most have been lost now the side panels are bonded on.

Hmm... must have been done after dinner! (liquid lunch)

I was more concerned that others may use said black paint and do the same in perhaps a more conspicuous place.. not nice on your pride and joy is it?.

i'd consider getting on the blower to luego about the powder coat, as i've used various paints on the mk powder coat, including halfords satin black, (when i chipped the front wishbone doing up the locknut) and havnt seen any reaction like that.

i thought powder coat was supposed to be a very stable finish, but a good warning all the same.
