Velocity & 4-AGE & 21R

Hi,
Currently building a Velocity, engine is a 4-AGE 20 valve 'Blacktop', with a 21R 5 speed gearbox, anyone already done this, pics or info on gearbox mounts, engine mounts, sump and engine position would really be appreciated.

Cheers

Brad

where did you find the 21r? ive jsut got a t50 and still struggled..... well it didnt help having an mr2 clutch fork did it?

youll be lucky to find pics on gearbox mounts but if you go to www.locost.info youll find designs for engine mounts. i recomend buying mounts from RAW. Have you got the velocity body or the locost? ive got the locost so the plenum doesnt actually fit inside. with the RAW mounts the sump wont need to be chopped and the the engine position will need to be decided when its sat in the chassis considering the other components in the bay....

hope this helps...

Here in South Africa the 21R is very common, I haven't come across a T50 yet, the 21R was fitted to Toyota Cressidas.

I've got access to the Locost,Velocity and Viento bodywork, this one will be a Velocity, a mate is trying to squeeze a 'Silvertop' into Locost bodywork.

sorry didnt see the SA bit. yeah my dad used to have a cressida! my familys from joburg and i was born in botswana lived there most of my life. most of my grandparents and cousins still remain in SA but i think they all have plans on living in the UK, sad to say but i think we did make the right choice.

well, you wont be able to get engine mounts cheaply but you can certainly make them from the designs on that website!
