Having built an MK Indy myself I'd have to agree with Mr Whippy that the front wishbones look MK to me too. That doesn't mean the seller hasn't fitted MK wishbones to a Robin Hood though.

that front chassis brace says MK indy to me (at least the older chassis style)
like in this thread: linky

Also it says pre-IVA, fair enough - but since the MK indy's started in 98 and the SVA was from 1st Jan 1998 - its should have had an SVA !

quote:
Parts of the car come from a 1980 Rover SD1 and Ford Sierra parts of the same year
so issued with an old V reg.

since old V reg is 79-80 those sierra parts must be from a pre-production model then (sierra was 82-93)

quote:
Many upgrades in all this time including Sierra front uprights and discs with wilwood 4 pot calipers and a Sierra rear diff with a very expensive helical type LSD fitted to replace the old ford Escort unit and now easily handles all the torque.

translating - this used to have some a live axle and is now IRS/DeDion
(obviously the Indy never had a live axle version)

putting all the bits together - we have an escort based robin hood that was 'upgraded' with just a few little bits like an entire new sierra based MK indy chassis, suspension and running gear - and just for good measure they also stuck a rover v8 in it....
but its still a robin hood.. honest

100% ringer

that doesn't mean anything - they don't recognize lots of cars or it brings up the wrong details

they aren't the only ones either - loads of ones do the same eg. castrol, halfords, etc... whatever database they all use has loads of errors
my donor comes up as the V6 instead of the 4cly - and I know its a very genuine car (it only came from next door! )

the official one on gov.uk is probably the best one but even then there are some errors (probably the same as the error's on the V5)

That's quite blatant, even says it all escort based and there's nothing ford pop in it. Just grabbed a V5 and used it. I pity anyone nieve enough to buy it.

Early 7 type ones were Cortina and Dolomite based, at least it makes a change from being a Dutton I suppose.

It is not a Viento because it's simply to small in width. I have a Viento and the engine bay is much much wider and deeper. I have never seen a Viento with a RV8 where the air filter sits above the bonnet. You would have to mount the engine on bricks to get it that high

Other manufacturers use square tube chassis braces (MK do for a start (I built an MK Indy)).

Ring ring,

Another one at it on eBay at the moment.

"Will need registering correctly at some point"

Yeah, will need an IVA before you can register it properly mate! Blatantly just using the Ford Popular log book and plates.

How do these people get away with it?! I know not every copper knows about kit cars but anyone can see it's not a ford pop
