Handbrake Cable Anchorage

Having got the cables for Tom's handbrake I discover that they have this bit on them......

..but the chassis already has some welded on brackets to take the cables.
Which is the better option? I don't really wnt to remove the brackets from the chassis as it'll disturb the powdercoat, however it looks the better option from an engineering point of view.

That would be awkward to spin round into a rivnut!
Cracking idea for those of us still plannning and building a chassis.
What's it from???

Yes, it is an Allegro cable which Luego have informed me is the required cable for the drum braked IRS Velocity and in the build manual it shows nuts holding what appear to be these bits secured to the chassis, BUT our chassis, which was built after the instructions were printed, has some welded brackets on it.....

how are you attaching the other end to the hand brake? i've got to make that bit next and i was expecting a much larger lump at the end of the cable to pull on.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if you mount that bit to the chassis, won't the handbrake come on when you go over a bump?

I had to weld a bracket to the axle to take these cables.

I suspect that the cable is fitted the other way 'round on the IRS Velocity. The end that this stop is on is at the lever end and the yoke on the inner adjacent to it goes on a balance bar affair pulled by the lever.

The nipple on the other end goes into the swinging plate attached to the Sierra brake shoe.

Does that make sense??

If I can add my bit
I too am confused, I have the same brake cables and found them impossible to fit.

I have since tried to fit mk2 escort cables but they are a bit short.

If someone has a rear drum luego please help.
