Viento Pick up

I have to collect my kit in early January, i am collecting the buid blaster kit +GRP

Has anybody done this recently and what size of van did you use.

I have to do about a 900mile round trip and i'll bet the weather is c*ap so leaving the chassis sticking out the back is not realy a prefered option.

I can get a LDV long wheel base for a reasonable price, internal length 3.4m neat.

What do you think?

U may be better off getting a long wheel base Iveco Daily sort of thing. Theyr longer than 4 metres.

This taken from Luego's site
Chassis dimensions
Viento
Length 3370mm long x 1220mm wide.

A convoy will be pushing it. Even the new longer ones.

I used a Landrover
A Transit Luton van or similar would be my preference since they are a damn site faster than a Landy !

"just like that !"

Used an LDV to pick up my locost chassis and bodywork Not sure how much larger the Viento is but had loads of room for mine , Take plenty of old blankets/dustsheets and ratchet straps etc

Vauxhall Omega Estate with roof bars (put some foam pipe insulation around the bars). Chassis on top and all the rest DOES fit inside.
I know cos I did it. Chaps at Luego thought it wouldn't go.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Make Up an axle / set of wheels with a small frame above them.. then have some bolts / brackets where you can clamp it undet the rear of the chassis. The a Ball hitch on a bit of 2" box section 3-5ft long, and some brackets to clamp onto the front of the Viento chassis.. and tow it like its a trailer. ie wheels clamped to the back and the tow hitch clamped to the front.
The frame can easily fit in the boot of the car or on roofrack for the journey down..

You wont need brakes as its all under 750Kgs.

Or Small trailer and knock the sites off.
Or old caravan chassis

Big Car and Strong roofrack. Be careful as you want a serious roofrack and ratchet straps to hold it all down.

Its a long old chassis. and you want a fair bit of room for all the Fi Glass bits... so you dont cram them in and scratch them.. Take bubble wrap and blankets, and ratchet straps.

Luego wrap everything well, but you want more to stop them moving / rubbing thru on the 450 mile journey home... its a long way.

Good Luck.. Cant wait to see the piccies... TAKE A CAMERA with you.. we want to see the piccies..

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
