Steering column clearance

We finally got round to sitting in the car, seats in situ, pedal box in and steering column offered up for effect and noticed a small problem. With my size 10 feet there is very little clearance when moving my foot from accelerator to brake. Has anyone else encountered this? Have you moved the column to get round the problem, or do you just live with it as it is?
It's not a huge problem, just a bit a of a pain. Any thoughts?

Re; Big Feet!

Stuart; I have raised the steering column above the standard Luego brackets and in fact above the foot tunnel well. My column is as in the "Book". Despite Grant & Mat's excellent bracket & hole for the column bush I have had to make a new one fixed to the chassis see Book page 70. Use 50*3mm plate (or stiffer) to extend the steering wheel brackets vertically. Lolocost do a bush bracket if you are stuck. PS I have size 12 feet! Hope this helps.
