Viento SHOCKS
After our chat at Brands today, I have dug out what shocks and springs I have.
This is what I have on my Viento with the Rover V8 up front.
14" shock on the front with 9" springs of 350Lb rating.
Rear are 13" shocks with 8" 225Lb springs.
All were 2-1/4" dia Gaz shocks.
Lots of people have only 1.9" diameter shocks, However, I got mine cheap off Ebay. and so far there have been no problems. They are very close
to the top wishbones, but dont actually touch
They are definately not set up correctly, and that needs that doing. However, it seems to be OK as it is, I just could get it better if it was set up
properly

Cheers... I will see how level the garage floor is. I would appreciate a hand... or more someone to look over my shoulder while do it. !!.
I am sure a beer or two could be arranged!
If its flat under the Car port, it will be dry as well.. and the wife serves up tea in a special Mug that never seems to be empty
I am going to Santa Pod this after noon and hope to get a blat down the strip. £10 to get in and £20 for as many runs as you can get in. Paper
printout given as well.
I got a spare seat if you want to come. or bring the Locost. Going with a mate and his 180Bhp Metro. Its not all High BHP.. many dont run a lot of
power and just go for a day out and their personal bests even if its a 17Secs 1/4mile.

You need the correct length of spring for the associated Shocker. or you end up loosing the travel, or having too much etc.
Yep got to Santa Pod, managed one run, I missed third gear, but managed 14.84 secs for the 1/4 mile and 95.5mph terminal speed. I didnt thank that was
too bad, considering its my first ever 1/4 mile run and with everyone watching me fluff the change.
I have checked Hellfires website, and his ZX1200 BEC did 12.986secs at 104.89 mph. OK thats nearly a full 2 seconds faster, but I have a heavier car,
and WAY HEAVIER Driver. So I am not disapointed at all, especially as it was my first ever attempt at this sort of thing. I am sure I can improve,
just by nor missing a gear change. or Loosing some Bodily FAT to increase the BHP/Ton figures.
I shall be practising at every set of traffic lights in town to improve my Launch technique:
Also need to sort the flat spot at 3k rpm as well
Hope to have a Video soon.. someone video'd me... just waiting for them to send it to me.
