Viento first drive

Well after a painless SVA, Tuesday 24th @ Exeter (1st time pass)!! and the DVLA inspection the next day I finally got my paperwork and tax disc back from them so went straight out and got me number plate, bolted it on and away i went for a few hours in this glorious weather!
Car went a treat-nothing feel off or broke so I am a very happy chappy.
I must say that all the dealings I had with SVA application and DVLA regsitration I really cannot fault them, they have all been very helpful and its not as bad as some people portray-unless I have been very lucky....
Now cant wait to get tweaking the beast!!!!

cheers Colin

Great isnt it... Well done Hector.

I dont know the weight of mine, but its in the 700kgs ish area. If I get it weighed I will post it.

Now JUST TAKE IT EASY... until you have got to know your car. You can nearly sh*te yourself or worse making silly errors though not understanding the performance of your car.

Like us all, you have put a huge effort into building it. Dont waste all that effort by driving it too hard too soon. Lear you new car's foibles first.

What more we dont want to hear about Bent Viento's (or any other make for that matter) or worse still.

Have a great time. You coming to Stoneleigh? Its a fair trip for you.

Good luck, and have a great time driving it.

Brilliant news, well done.

My Viento weighs in at 800kgs so it's amazing how quickly suicidal speeds are suddenly achieved, so take it steady, but most of all........enjoy

Cheers

Dave

Got my Tax renewal today... God it's been a year already!.

Noticed they want an MoT. So rung the DVLA. They said as its Q Plate, the age is not determinable, therefore it needs a MoT every year. Dratt and Double Dratt

So I got out the MoT and it ran out 4 days ago!
Oops.. This is threatening Stoneleigh.
My local garage couldnt do it until next week, and neither could at least 6 other places.

So I rung a mate who works ofr a HVG place.
"Bring it round NOW!"
So I did. It flew through as expected, and even had to take the tester out for a "Road Test"
Anyway, got a nice new MoT for £35. I even got "Staff Discount" as my mate booked it in!

Anyway the upshot of this is their brake rollers, calculate weight.

HECTOR.... Mines 840 Kgs. (But them I am Bat F'Stard)

Hi Geoff

840 kg thats a little lighter than mine, but i have a bloater of a ford v6 cologne engine planted in it!!

Regarding mot's, I asked the the chap who did my sva and he said i would need an mot next year and every year after, as its on an age related plate, it only new registrations that get 3 yrs.

Have fun - and work yourself up to 'fast'. These cars are great fun, but they bite hard when you overstep the mark. It's a skill you'll have to learn.

Good fun though...
