Week-end from hell. But I'm back now.
Well in answer to your question Richard, The build is coming along, albeit a bit slowly over the past week and after this week end just gone it will
now be even slower.
I now have my battery mounted on a battery tray in the engine bay, in front of the passenger foot well (pictures will follow soon, I hope). So now I
can re-install all the wiring and other bits I removed to get the tray in. I have some stainless steel tubing ( Thank you Kev [madteg] ) and so I
need to order some silicone hoses to connect the cooling system together.
This weekend just gone I was going to make the Christmas cake, move the telly to its new place AND spend some time in the garage refitting in
preparation for sorting the hoses out, which I had hoped to order this week end or week.
However GOD had other plans for me. I got in from work (on Saturday Night ) about 03:30 on sunday morning. Rolled into bed about 04:00. As seems
normal these days I woke up about 08:30, went down stairs and made breakfast (in bed) for my good lady and me. Whilst making the brecky I quickly put
my last nights work on the computer and then up stairs with food to SWMBO.
We were sitting there eating and watching telly when the lights & telly cut out then came on again. However when we came down stairs later we/I
found that my 'puter had decided to go and join other unhappy souls in Val Halla.
One mad panic ensued and to cut a long boring story short £550 of my build/Tax money later (and 2 Days) I had a new computer up and running. I'm
just left with about another 2 days work re-installing and un-backing up ALL the generally useful rubbish I had on my old one.
Thank god I had a useful back up system. I think the only thing(s) that I have lost are unsaved emails and the outlook express address book. I am not
sure at this time wether it was the psu OR the mother board the died, when I have more time then I shall find out.
I am still holding a (seems like forlorn at the moment) hope that I shall be on the road for Stoneleigh. I just have to grit my teeth and dig in hard
now.
Enjoy.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Know what you mean about losing the PC though...oddly enough when I don't have access one of the places I miss the most is this forum!

I've just built a new one and treated myself to a monitor as well. I keep an old PIII 500 upstairs with Ubuntu on it for disasters and it never
lets me down. I just start it up and update it occasionally with bits from repair jobs or donations from friends computers. It gets you back online if
you're stuck.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
