Luigi Viento is living in under my Car Port
I got my new Viento kit home yesterday, and installed in the garage.
Just got to finish off a few bits before the SvA test and putting it on the road..
Its just a bare chassis, so I have a couple or fifty three jobs to do before then!

Yep the one at the back is mine.. modifieed before I have even started on it!.. I got some extra metalwork so I can have a towbar. Its also on the
paperwork, so its an "official factory" mod. It may help / count for summat in an insurance claim if it ever come to that. I only want a
small camping trailer, nowt too big.
I have discovered a major blunder on my part.. I MUST use discs on the rear. However I got a drum reared sierra job.
So I am lookin at getting yet another donor to strip.. Wife isnt tooooo happy but has agreed.
Not an additional expense that I had bargained for.
Hope to have it all on the road for the spring / summer.
I have built two Lightweight (Air Transportable) Land Rovers from the concrete upwards, so am reasonably "au fait" with a build job.. I
even have a little money in the "toy fund" the landys were done on a "as and when basis"
at least I have a budget... ( sold the coil sprung lightweight, and the boat for this) I totted it up tonight..
Current spend is £4082
and I have a bare chassis on two B&D workmates! However have bought a few new tools for the build, and an additional side to the car port to keep
the weather out!.
I have no illusions of what lies ahead.
Having said that, I have never done anything like this before... I Mean I can even lift the chassis, or engine on my own.. perhaps I dont need the
eingine crane for this build!!

My donor had rear discs fitted, i just need to make sure i was supplied with hub carriers to match ? i did say when i ordered kit, anyone got a piccy
of the difference in hub carriers ?
Also Geoff - if you find a donor with discs, we found it easier to remove the whole rear end rather than just taking out the diff, driveshafts etc and
the big hub nuts are well tight (And one is a left hand thread !!
Bonjour !

Why bother finding a donor with discs when you can just a buy an adaptor plate from GTS to mount the rear calipers/discs on the drum setup.
Kind regards,
Darren

Luego supply Disc uprights, unless you ask for the Drum ones. I didnt realise they were different untill I picked it up at the
"factory".

As Geoff says, Luego will supply the kit as required for your donor. Just tell them which type of brakes you are using and you will get the right
bits in your kit. If you have the wrong ones give Grant a call and I'm sure he'll swap them for you.
Cheers, Chris

I have just looked at the adapter plate on GTS site and can see how that would work but how does the disk and bell/hub mount on the rear drum bearing
carrier?
or am i way of track with this and talking boll*cks?
