mt75 gearbox extention

Hi, guys, does anyone know how to shorten the gear extention on an mt75 gearbox (gearstick is hitting the dash) pics would be very helpful, thanks.

The best solution is to move it back a few inches. I found mine to be too forward and like most type 9 fitted cars the gear lever is too far forward. Westfield get over the issue by supplying a new gearlever craddle which moves the lever back aboout 3-4".

Rather than pay the £200+ Westy want it is not too tricky to mod the Ford part.

It involves cutting the pressed steel cradle in half and moving it back the desired distance and joining the two parts together again using a could of bits of oval tude. Then doing the same with the lever connecting rod. It sounds a lot but only takes a couple of hours and is well worth the effort.
