yes anything like that but d t a was a tad expensive
something that i can wire up as i have the original and using type 9 gearbox does not have the speed sensor that e.c.u requires makes it a bit u s

Personally - I'd go for a megasquirt!

You get much more control using one of them - granted you need a rolling road - but you have unlimited potential.

If you ever change the engine you still have the ECU

My mate's a reseller for MegaSquirts and also sells the engine looms.

If you believe you're not crazy, whilst everybody is telling you, you are - then they are definitely wrong!

any idea on prices and contact details web site etc ?
does the loom come as per car or do you need to attach original conectors?
so many questions!!!
it sounds good and a rolling road will also help to set the speedo at the same time.

the name bill shurvington rings a bell - think he posts on the westfield site and a megasquirt forum- a search will bring up the details if someone doesn't post them first..

Which version of cosworth v6 are you using?

Are you using a standard Type 9 box or a strengthened one?

I went for megasquirt to run the rv8, not finished building the megasquirt yet but good quality. You can buy either in kit form or pre-built.

If you go for whole sha-bang like I did, your lookin around 200-250 for stuff delivered/

Bill Shurvinton is on 07788432735 or bill@shurvinton.fsworld.co.uk, very knowledgeable chap.

My friend lives in Herne Bay. I know he has loads of looms available so im sure he would be able to help. If you email me ( ianjeffery@hotmail.com ) ill give you his mob number ( dont want ot give it out on a forum ).

I have my 24v connected to a type9 gear box too. you have to be careful with them cause they can split the case from teh torque - my first 2 did.

splitting the gearbox?
do you mean the bellhousing?
I broke one but that's when i dropped the gearbox and it was a bugger to source a replacement.
If this is the case is there no way of sourcing a stronger box?
If you want to e-mail me the chaps number then please do so.
My e-mail address is wrong as i forgot to add the dot.
kieth.aris@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks again
kieth

yes, the torgque going through the front of the gearbox was enough to produce a hairline crack front the casing.

there are loads of type 9 2.9 capri boxes about the place, to replacement is only £50 away. As far as im aware there is nothing special about the 2.4 type 9 gear box - its just a V6 type 9.

ill email you his number. say Ian put you on to him ( 24v capri )
