6 years of not running i got the engine fired up today first turn of key then a bit of fiddling with the carb and it runs like a dream, just need to set the timing more acurately sounds great the 1.3 xflow sounds nice and beafy (no holes in exhaust either ) not long now and will be able to join you all as shows but not this year but deffinately next may most electrics working just going to get some lights etc at Stoneleigh.

sure is was convinced it would need alot of annoying fiddling around to get the thing going but just turned key and brum hehe

Well done. I can remember getting mine started the first time really gave me the incentive to make the final push and get it finished.

Well done that man. A great feeeling isn't it. Not got that far with my kit build yet but that should be the naxt stage (if only to annoy the mother-in-law), but have had lots of similar feelings when rebuilding engines during the course of my work over the years.

excuses now i was 15 when started building in 2001 and the next thing i know im doing GCSE's then 6 week to work on car, then college to try and get some sort of qualifications and so effectively did not work on it for 2 and a half years and now im only managing work on her every weekend so it is dragging out a bit, this year is the year i will finish and get her on the road then can start upgrading .

now i know the engine is good got a lot less on my mind to do.

i can see light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a road fast approaching
