stearing uj

as some of you may know I put up a post some time ago about probs with stearing trying to connect my MK2 escort quick rack from rally designs to the seirra stearing coloum as the splyns on the rack were smaller on the rack that in the end off the seirra UJ, in the end I made one but just got my new copy of rally designs catalogue in the post and they now do a UJ specifically for the job and its only £20

Is this why the spline connection at the bottom of the steering downlink of my Viento feels loose on the splines of the Escort rack? I bought the 'custom' Luego downlink rather than have the original modified and it seems fine in all ways other than that the bottom joint doesn't really seem to locate on the splines until the pinch bolt is done up real tight. Do I need a custom joint ??
