Its Good to be Back

At last the beast runs again. Have had the car under wraps until I decided the best thing was to get it sorted out. The overheating problem was I thought down to warped heads but after having got them off they were straight and flat. The next thing was to get the heater hose take off's blanked off at the pump and the header. Then install the pacet pro pullers properly on the rad and double circlip every one of the hoses. All of this of course by Jon Edwards at JEM motorsport in Daventry who will pick up the car and return it within a week for a reasonable £35 per hour. Went to the workshop during the work and he had the odd original GT40 waiting for odd bits to get it on the track. He wants to cut the front end off over xmas and fit a proper bespoke radiator and shroud as he thinks the original Luego rad is to thick and needs to be side tanked with water flowing from left to right over a thinner core and the heat pushed out through the nose via a shroud. Starting to save now as its only £800 for the rad system ! Result is its never run cooler or faster. Not above 80 degrees and a great 45psi on the oil guage. Can't work out whether I have a bit of clutch slip or i'm wheel spinning between 4th and 5th ! Hope to see you at the Pboro show.
