Quantum of Solace Cars
i watched the new bond film today and it came to my attention how little they are actually showing the bond cars in the new movies and the fact that
the cars are getting worse!
in casino royale they had the aston DB9 and the DB5 both fantastic cars but then they snook in with the new mondeo in the new movie they sneak in
two more FORDS the new ka and the new ford kuga
how are they getting away with this? the DB9 or DBS in the new film is in the initial car chase and is wrecked within 30 seconds! whats the deal!

i think Ford put quite a bit of sponsorship money into the film and there may have been a clause in the contract saying that their cars need to be
shown more than the Astons??
Similar to the number of Land Rover vehicles in Quantam of Solace too.
We gain knowledge faster than we do wisdom!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"

Don't forget the Jags, Range Rovers and Defenders
And I'm sure there was a Volvo in there somewhere too!

a good bit of advertising by ford i would think when they did the deal to supply the astons it was probably agreed to include other ford owned models
ie ford, aston, landrover volvo, etc shame they have now sold off most of these makes
beat me to it

the volvo is only in it for a matter of seconds! and you don't even see the front, its just a passing shot of the back. IIRC the jag is an XJ
that the baddie pulls up to the opera in; that is in shot for a matter of seconds and as for the Defender that goes off the cliff right at the start
as well as the elimination of a couple of police Alfa's.
do you think that the are committed to seeing how many cars they can destroy! i think the XJ was the only one to survive, oh my mistake, even that
gets a bashin when that bloke falls on it from when bond shoves him off the roof! and it doesn't even dent the bonnet!
as for the film itself, its action packed from start to finish, the story line is quite weak but if you like bond movies and Daniel Craig as bond then
you'll like it, i think that the camera shooting is too close to the action in a couple of places but some scenes are brilliant. dont want to
give away too much but its worth £6.50 at the cinema if you want to go!
p.s watch casino royale before hand as there are references to the previous movie since it is based as a sequal

Im sure the ford bond is driving when they pull up to the station towards the end is a hydrogen fuelcell prototype, you just see the front badge flash
up before dissappearing offscreen.

Good Bond film IMHO. Can't understand why it got such a muted response from the critics! Daniel Craig is a worthy 007!

Agree with scootz - Way too much cynical bu11shit spouted over these two films but in reality, if Fleming was alive today, he'd absolutely love
them. How many films today combine gritty action with tense underlying storytelling - brewing up to a corker of a no.3 with Mr Craig IMHO...

In Casino Royale, when Bond pulls into the carpark of the country club (driving a Mondeo) every single car in the car park is from the Ford family of
companies.
Still better than when BMW got thir hands on the contract though - Bond belongs in an Aston, full stop!

I want to know how in God's name the Alfa was keeping up with (and overtaking at one point) the Aston in the opening scene

I thought it was the Ford Edge, not the Kuga:
Unless there was a Kuga as well?
The books were full of product placement so it's nothing new!
