Ive had a fantastic day working on the car

I dont know why i was so worried about the wiring of my car, so far it been the most rewarding part of the build, i have wired up all the lights, indicators, hazards, rear fog, instruments and warning lights and everything works as it should all in a day, im so pleased

Its definitely one of those transitions from parts to automobile that feel really rewarding.

Like putting the panels on the chassis.

I like wiring the most. It beats playing with the bodywork any day.

If the car was all wiring and no plastics I would have been driving ages ago.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

One thing i would say is do one bit at a time and the check it as you go and before you know it its all done, one thing that helped me was to cover the wiring that i wasnt doing was to cover it up so i couldnt see it so i would only concentrate on the bit i was doing.
Oh and a multimeter is a must!!

^ so you didn't try and make up one loom in one go and connect it all up? (probably not the way anyone has done it, but always the way i thought would give the neatest resut)
or did you, for example, start with your reversing light (i know you did ) run all the cables for it, check it works, then run the cables for the tail lights, check, cable brake lights, check, indicators, check, reg plate light, check, and THEN wrap them all up together?

I had major jitters about doing my wiring, and kept putting it off. When I eventually got cracking, it was a joy. I just took one circuit at a time, and tested the functionality of everything, everytime I made a change. Only once on the whole car did I get any smoke! It does now look a bit of a mess - I tell myself I can sort it out after SVA!
