This thing is almost too powerful for a locost
Link
But is there really such a thing as "too" powerful? I guess I would just have to make my frame that much stiffer!
I'm not scared!!! I'm just marking my territory.

Would be more of a hicost I've been in Dax Rushes with 300bhp+ engines (turbo busa and seriously tuned RV8) and the chassis copes fine.

Torque is fairly low so I dont think there would be much of an issue.
I can think of better ways to spend $28,000 though

i like this quote from the website
quote:
The H1 V8 is a 2.8 (or new 3.0!) liter 32 valve V8 which weighs less than most 4 cylinder engines and is about the same size. Track cars and other
lightweight race veh1cles which have been limited to 4 cylinder engines for size and weight reasons are the target market.
so what they are saying is that they have developed an 8cylinder engine for people racing in classes that are limited to 4 cylinders. or am i reading
it wrong

Got to really think about using 4 wheel drive to lay that sort of power down. Getting to the point of it being not usable power.

That would be the perfect engine for a superlightweight Ultima!!!! Oh, I wish I was minted!

I think what he's saying if that before the only feasible engine in terms of dimensions and weight was a 4cyl, they offer an alternative with
more power.

I wish I had the money for one of they! My packaging problems would be over!
The chassis would need strengthening in my opinion, but nothing too major.
If disfunction is a function, then I must be some kind of genius.

TKD engineering or Powertech in the UK have their own versions of this.
