much Vienta progress at last.....

This is my 5th year of building a Viento and its the most progress yet- I can see the end in sight at last.... Got my installed Rover V8 engine started last week for first time after rebuilding it myself- will have the video up on utube later this week and will post a link- sound does not do it justice but in really sounds a monster without the silencers on- got the whole road wanting a look and my neibour pissed. Would not start at first then realised electric pump was dribbling fuel into Webber carb as not enough fuel in tank (duh) so poured some neat fuel down the carb and it fired first time! Carb was is flooding badly so I took it apart checked for dirt and its even worse now- so called the guru at RPI who told me myfuel pump is off an SDI so its massively too much pressure (even with my pressure regulator value it cant cope) so just ordered cheap pacet from ebay- lets see if that fixes it...

Plan to get the prop in tonight- have jacked up the car and put on axle stands so I can get under -with my son to help from up top- will let you know how it goes... nasty

Wiring next- have had a a freindly auto electrician get the basics in for me- (Luego loom was incorrectly wired he claimed) - he is coming this week to finish off I hope- so I shoud be good shape for a test in the autumn - will post some pics later this week...

Probably the best sound in the world…….

Make sure you fit some form of engine steady bars at the top of the engine as the V8 tends to move a lot on its mounts.

Well done Phil. Its a great feeling having it running for the first time. Nearly there now, keep up the good work.

Congrats on getting the engine running! I was so paranoid first time i ran mine that I was glad it was all over! the fire coming out of the exhaust ports did nothing to calm me down!

I got mine on the road earlier this year after 3 1/2 years building. Got about 300 miles on it now and loving it.

Keep going!!

can't beat a v8 for sound effects
got my tick over down to 700rpm-ish - all i can hear is ... left...right..left ...right from the exhaust - sex!!
