Blade engine won't run - PLEASE HELP!!

So here is the story.

I have recently put a blade engine in an SEW car and the engine was running until I went and extended all the HT leads and moved the coil packs up onto the bulkhead.

Now it wont run properly, it pops and bangs but doest fire properly and won't even idle. Thinking I had introduced the issue wit the new leads, I put eveything back as it was presiously but its still there

Here are the checks I have made:

- Coils wired correclty and have 12v supply
- Plugs spark (although not the strongest looking spark) when removed from head and and earthed against block
- Fuel pumps is working ok and delivering fuel to carbs
- It has fuel in it!!

It sounds terrible and sends out the odd flame from the exhaust during cranking. Any idea's would be much appreciated. I need to get this thing on the road!!

have you got the coils wired up correct easy to mix up maybe try swaping they around not the wires the coils
as it sounds like the timing is out

Thanks for the response, Will check them but pretty certain they are correct.

Please can someone confirm that I am correct in thinking that the yellow/black wire to the coil goes with the black terminal and the signal wire blue/yellow goes with the green terminal?

Sounds very much like you've got the HT leads mixed up.

Just been in garage and checked the following:-
On my 893cc blade the black/white wires go to the black terminals of both coils, while yellow with blue trace goes to green terminal of coil for cylinders 1 and 4 and blue with yellow trace to the green terminal of coil for cylinders 2 and 3.
Its also possible that due to misfire, your plugs have got wet and will need heating with a blow torch til cherry red to remove all contaminants to get them to fire again properly.

Spark plugs, mine will not start until blow torched if its not started cleanly requiring blow torch action.

(As above...) Assuming you haven't messed the coil wires round the wrong way, then I would point finger directly at those pesky plugs
