Sold my car....

...well took a deposit this morning.

Had a gent from Blackburn come down to have a look at it and he was here at 8:30am!

Had a good chat and a quick drive (in the pouring rain!).

Seemed very happy, but would like me to do a few minor things to the car before he picks it up. Which he is happy to pay for in addition to the already agreed price. As he is more interested in driving them than building and tinkering.

It suits me as I dont mind working on it. And it will give him exactly what he wants from the car too.

Biggest job to do is a cam change which I need to talk to Raceline about which are the best ones to go for....this obviously then entails a quick remap as well!

All agreed though, so all being well I will be waving it goodbye in a month or so.

I'll be sad to see it go, but am also keen to move on to new projects!

Good man

Nice to see home built cars going for good money. Are you going to disclose how much? Its of interest when/if I sell mine once its done.

Certainly hoping to bring it to over 300bhp, its 270bhp now and a set of mild road cams should bring it up quite a lot.... If not theres plenty more boost to play with as well if necessary.

Other things are another scuttle with a screen on (hopefully mango's sorting me a screen frame) so he can swap between an aero acreen and full screen depending on whether its on the track or road.

I need to talk to raceline and get some input from them on the cam selection. Then finalise a few details and we are good to go

All I will say about the price is that its very, very close to what it was advertised for in the first place.

Good luck David with your venture,
Is Briz the guy with a large beard who is doing the Daimler Hemi Chopper, if it is he is a bit of a genius I reckon.
I may sell mine and do something a bit different.
Steve.

you are getting paid in advacnr for this ? i.e. what have you done that won't leave you out of pocket once you have spent time and money doing this extra?

will the changes make the car less saleable?

Nope, paying for the parts upfront - no problems there.

And no worries with the saleability of the car either!

I'd rather have 10 root canals than own a Harley Davidson or similar. But best of luck to you!!! I was watching every step of your build and your engine transplant and found your stuff extremely helpful.

Hi and welcome! Would be interesting to hear what made you switch from an R500 to what some might call a 'lesser' Seven . Would also be interesting to hear your thoughts on how they compare after you have driven the GTS.

Enjoy

MYT engine

Has anyone seen this, and considered putting it into a Seven (Or bike Flak Monkey!)

To me, it looks fasinating, and just the sort of thing for a skilled kit car builder to utilise.
