Suppose it would depend on age, condition, how much is there etc. Would it be just bodywork, a full kit or something in between?

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

The string is twice as long, as the distance from the centre to one end- hope that helps

Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

If you cut both ends off the string, it will then be infinitely long?

To help you answer your own question, let me tell you I bought a 'secondhand kit' from ebay
- it was a 'Luego Locost' and included:
an unused chassis,
a full set of GRP panels,
a full set of ally panels,
all wishbones and rear uprights.

it also included the 1.6 donor sierra with newish alloys and tyres and another set of rear driveshafts (already shortened) with diff.

For all this I paid £1645 which I thought quite reasonable - thought it wouldn't cost much more to put it on the road!

Well now, I am just about to IVA test and then register it and I reckon I have spent just under £9000 - yep! - those bits don't half add up!

One pitfall I haven't actually reached yet is that, because the kit was secondhand, I don't have the original reciept for the chassis - hence I can't prove it was unused when I bought it - I have a hand - written reciept from the pseudo-dealer I bought it off in which he states it is unused, but I'm probably still going to end up on a Q plate because of this.

Hope this helps you?

Steve.

a piece of string is on average 40m. I have photo's to prove it.

(go to asda, find a ball of string, it will say average length 40m - i took a picture so when ever anyone says "how long is a piece of string i can whip out the photo and say "on average about 40m". Yes, i know i'm sad).

I must admit, I am having a job 'Cottoning' on following this 'Thread' about 'String' - I think the guy was asking about buying a kit.....? You lot are just tying him in 'Knots'
