please measure
I have just fitted rear suspension to velocity (all wishbones supplied by luego) using rear drum brakes from sieirra, but distance measured from side
of body to outer rim of tyre is 310mm which is too wide for arches. Have i cocked up cos its driving me bonkers.

Hi,
My chassis is +100mm wider, and I'm using Luego Velocity XT rear wishbones. My similar measurement is 260mm, which is comparable with yours,
allowing for your 50mm narrower per side chassis.
Luego wider rear arches are a comfortable fit for me, but I can see you will need something nearly 50mm wider....
It's a bit of a puzzle, as I understand it, a Velocity XT is a book chassis with a standard rear sierra rear end (ie drive shafts not
shortened). Therefore the dimensions you have recorded make sense?? Suggest you speak with Mat or Grant at Luego
Good Luck

thanks too both of you and i have been to luego to measure but they are none the wiser. I am also using standard size drive shafts and the wider
(235mm) rear arches..
Any other suggestions??? am prepared to dismantle and measure individual components

Is the diff/drive shafts from a granny... if so, could it be wider?
Just a thought..

I'd follow up Bens suggestion of wheel offset.
Take the wheels out of the equation and measure what the face of drum to bodywork dimension is for your car & a Luego
If you are the same as Luego (and its difficult to imagine how you can't be), then the answer is the wheel offset.
My wheels are 7.5 inches wide with an offset of 40mm, which I think means that the mounting face of the wheel is 40mm further out than the centreline
of the wheel.
I think that means that the outside face of my wheel is therefore approx. 55mm further out than the hub face.
Hope that makes sense
In summary maybe you need wheels with greater offset??
Good Luck
John

Pointy
Are you sure that you have the wide rear wings because they measure 280mm inside approx 290mm overall, Luego p/n K2 ?
