Locost engine options

Hi all.

I am looking into buying a Locost previously raced in the 750MC series, so has the regulation 1.3 engine, and 4 speed box.

Will be looking to get a bit more grunt out of it, so 2 questions;

What engine / box combinations can be fairly easily / economically installed (looking at 140hp+)?

What price can I expect to get back by selling the (running perfectly, top end rebuilt) 1.3 engine?

Cheers Carl

Easiest to fit would be a 1600 Xflow

And the 1300 would probably of use to a fellow locost racer

Have you driven it? If it has a race tuned 1300 xflow it'll be quick. Probably around 110 bhp already.

Yes, perhaps I should take it for a trackday before embarking on serious surgery.

Anyway fingers crossed, the seller and I are now close to agreement, so hope to have the deal done tomorrow.

Deal now done, so hope to get it out (quite fancy Anglesey) for a test day soon.

Watch this space for my Tiger Avon for sale.
