My new locoyam
Hi all just picked up a Locost with a Yamaha fazer 1000 engine in it. It's a 1 owner car and the builder was an engineer so it's done very
nicely. Took him 2+1/2 years and finished it in 2011 and has done 6000 miles in it since.
I had a Robin Hood years ago with a 2.1 pinto engine on twin 45's but was quite heavy so not all that quick really. I've always loved the
sound of a bike coming from a car and wanted something lively so went for this. It's quite quick but still could do with a bit more I'm
thinking of a dynojet kit for the carbs, are they worth the money do they make a difference? Tempted to rolling road it before and after to see the
difference.
Any other power advise other than stick it in the bin and get a busa engine?? 
I've changed the lights already for small carbon ones and I'm in the process of changing the screen to an aero, just want to bring it up
to date a bit really wheels and rear lights next.

That looks like a tidy car, I used to have an MNR with an R1 engine in it. I do miss the sound and gearbox, I think it suits this type of car
better.

Thankyou, yeah noise and box are superb. Hopefully once I've made it mine and bought it up to date it should be fine

Few mods so far, carbon lights, new wheels, new front indicators (not fitted yet) screen gone and aero screen being fitted once skuttle is painted or
wrapped.

Unusual choice of bike engine,did he say why he chose it?
Be careful if you get on a damp/wet road with those paradas  had them on mine last year and were lethal!

He said it's the cheaper option if it goes bang as you can get them on eBay for 3/400 pounds where as a busa or r1 are megabucks, and it pretty
much an r1 anyway.
Oh really ok thanks for the advice on the tyres there getting down a bit anyway so probably change them soonish. I'm tempted with a different
engine but I'm not very clever so would cost me a fortune getting someone else to do it, working out mounts and wiring and things.

Yeah if you can't do the conversion yourself or got a m8 to do it it will cost a fortune to pay a garage etc to do it!
You would be better off selling the car and buying something with the engine you want already in it

Yeah true don't get me wrong it's fast it's still 142 bhp so I'll probably do a dynojet kit and see what's that's
like and go from there

Very nice car Loco
However, I don't want to be picky here, but do you know the regs on storing petrol?
If you have all of those plastic cans full, you are WAY over the limit Mate

It's ok there all empty, I do track days so they are there for that!! I don't want a kit car fireball

You can store it in:
suitable portable metal or plastic containers
one demountable fuel tank
a combination of the above as long as no more than 30 litres is kept
■ have a nominal capacity:
■ no greater than 10 litres if made of plastic;
■ no greater than 20 litres if made of metal;
I read it as a max of 30, with no more than 10 litres per plastic container, so you could have 6 x 5 litre plastic cans
