Fuel filler hose, SVA fail

I think this has been discussed before, but no clear answer.

My MK failed because the fuel filler hose was not marked as being suitable for fuel. Phoned Car Builder Solutions who supplied it and they can give no proof. Demon Tweeks no joy either. The problem is that I need a 90 deg. bend marked fuel to clear the boot tray, but nowhere seems to supply any. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to get a hold of a 90deg. bend 2inch bore aluminium tube and connect this to the filler and tank with two straight pieces of marked filler hose. Problem is where do I get a piece of 2in aluminium tube with a nice tight 90 deg bend?

Whoever I phone has never heard of anybody failing for this reason

I got some spiral fuel filler hose that could be bent into tight raduises. It was either from think auto or europa specialist spares.

I passed SVA with it but probably because it couldn't be seen.

The problem I have is that the 90° bend is right on the fuel filler so I can't get the pump nosel in very far. Unless I dribble fuel into the car, it spurts back out again.

*Cough* Fill it through the boot for the SVA

Then find magical pixies have changed it to an aero cap when you've passed

Ive fitted the stuff from CBS which is marked as Gates Fuel Fill Hose (£19 per 18". If yours isnt marked, Im sure you could find a spec sheet or even a "spec sheet" for said hose and present this?

Ive also tried a 90degree bend but it wasnt long enough after the bend nor was it marked, that was from Mocal.

Failing that, Im sure any exhaust manufacturer could make you up a tight 90degree bend and join that with approved hose.

Seems a total pain in the bum to me and something that suppliers really could get a grip of.

I used the plastic fuel filler flexy hose from a Fiat Panda, presumably if it's from a production car must be considered ok? It was visible & not commented on - there again he had pretty much filled up the form & may have just got fed up looking at it!

I spoke specifically to Mac1 about that and they have changed suppliers of the hose. Nor could they supply a letter to cover the stuff they did stock.
