Newbie builder

Hi all

I didn’t manage to get to Stonleigh this year as i was spending my time picking up a SD1 V8 Manual rover. I have already built, and i run around in a Robin Hood 2B but i would like to build a new 7esk type car with the V8 lump. I had thought about buying another Hood kit but i would ideally like a car with a decent chassis, adjustable suspension and proper handling. The last point being very important if using the rover engine. Can any one let me know what the major differences are between the Luego, Dax and Westie including the obvious price difference with the Westie.
How adjustable is the suspension on these cars, do they utilise anti-roll bars etc . Can you get weather gear for the Leugo and is it water proof (My hood is certainly not)?

Any information you can forward is much appreciated

Many thanks
Julian Brewer

Can't answer all your queries, but I did see the Luego Viento at Stoneleigh... very nice.

It's bigger and wider than a standard Locost, but still looks in proportion.

I'd have one, if I was starting again!

DJ

BTW - if you're half-interested in the Viento, have a word with Luego. They're currently encouraging people to have test drives.

V8 Viento

Hi Julian, it was unfortunate that you could not make the Stoneliegh Show. The show was one of the best I have been to & Luego had a fantastic response from all that came on to our stand. Regards to the V8 Viento, the main difference is that the cockpit is larger by 6" in width and 6" in length, so the drive is very comfortable on long drives. Also when you sit in the car all of your body is inside the car, this gives the feeling of a safer ride. The handling of the car is fantastic due to the engine not hanging over the front wheels as on all the other V8 LSIS. Again with the engine bay being larger you can work on the engine with ease and the heat from the engine can dissipate quicker so the engine runs at a comfortable temperature, even when stationary.
All we can say is come and have a look, we have an open day this Sunday the 11th May and a BBQ next Sunday both days are from 12 noon, give us a call on 01733 552911. We all at Luego Sports Cars Ltd look forward to seeing you and seeing your grin when you have experienced the V8 Viento.
Best Regards The Team.

I had a good look at the Luego cars and Stoneleigh and was very impressed. They have come a long way in the last year.

If I were to build another car and wanted to fit a large engine such as a V8 (which I don't) then they would be my first choice without any doubt. The quality of engineering is very good, IMO better than MK.

PS: I have no connection with Luego but they deserve support.

That was my opinion aswell, hence why I approached them to help out with the site. It's items like the pedal box that most impressed me.

Finally looks like luego are getting some well deserved recognition, although i opted for the velocity chassis in the end they were the only manfacturer to even contemplate looking into a de dion rear for me.

cheers

just received colour charts from luego expecting maybe 5-10 choices - not 160 of the bleeding things ! - nice one boys
does anyone know whether this is this common to other kit car suppliers ?
