Wheel width

Hi

Am at the stage of needing the body for my XT and was wondering on what width wheels and therefore what arch people are getting??

My plan was to use a 7J on the from and a 8j on the rear?? does that sound about right??

Thanks in advance

Stu

what engine and what use are you planning? What diameter wheels? All very relevant. 8j sounds massive unless you have a very large engine, i have 13x5.5j all round, with 185 width tyres.

Hi

I am going to use a duratec with about 200 - 250 bhp.

I want to use it on the road and also track days.

I am prob going to use 13 inch rims.

What are other people using??

Cheers

Caterham use the 260bhp duratec in the CSR, so it's probably a reasonable yardstick to compare against.

15” 10 Spoke Caterham Anthracite wheels. Front 6.5”, Rear 9.0”
■ Bespoke Avon CR500 tyres, Front:195/45R15, Rear:255/40R15

Hope that helps.

Mike

Mine are:

Front axle 195/50/15

Rear axle 225/45/16

Don't know how it will handle yet as I am still building. Wheels are Magnesium off a Lotus 340R.
