R1 BANGS on changing gear
I'm hoping this is just tweak to fix but I doubt it!!
R1 in an MNR. On changing gear (using the cable and gearstick) there is an ever increasing loud clunk, kinda like straight cut gears would make when
banging in.
It bangs when the gear is changed rather than when the clutch is released.
I had noticed what I think is a lot of transmission slack, I think from the diff, and was wondering if that could be the cause? Clutch seems to fully
disengage when pressed.
Does that souund familiar to anyone?
Cheers

Sounds like it could be just the prop engaging the diff, does it accelerate through the gears ok?
Does it have a TRT prop??

Mine makes a terrible grinding clunk on engaging the diff but is smooth after that (ie once rolling)....

All the R1's ive been in do the same dude. Mine makes a right clonk in all gears, but 1st gear is the worst.
I thought putting a bailey morris prop on would cure it abit.... but it didnt!

Gawd that is good news! Thanks guys.
Now all I have to do is fix the exhaust, change the cv boot, adjust the ride height, set up the suspension and reduce the noise from 110db!
Nice to know it's not just me
