Bodywork
Hi
Just recieved my bodywork from Luego, there is some scratches and a rough patch on the bonnet. Just wondered if i can rub down the GRP to get rid of
it?
Not worked with it before so not sure if i can use 1200 grit and then polish it back as normal paint work or not.
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
Thanks
Stu

1200 then rubbing compound, tcut, then polish. A polishing mop will help alot but keep it on the damp side, kev.

As you suggest, use wet n dry to remove any marks working through the grades getting finer. I use Farecla G3 and G10 as the final stages to get the
shine back before polishing with whatever you use normally

Be careful though. Gel coat is very thin. Don't sand throught it.

Give Ben a ring and tell him your not happy with it , if he gets enough complaints then the quaility should improve. It's not as if the kits are
cheap so why should you put up with inferior parts. . My bodywork was crap but I had it in storage still in bubble wrap for nearly two years before
attempting to fit it so had left it too late to do anything about it. ( NOT Bens fault, brought from old Luego) Will not make that mistake again!

You might also get told if you want top quality panels you will have to pay extra for them.

I can see what you are saying, will prob speak to him, like you said i know what the answer will be. It is mainly the bonnet i am not happy with as
it has some imperfections on the top and the front where it meets the nose cone has not been cut straight.
I think it is a lot of money for an average job, not sure how price compares to other kits??
I did also have to wait 8 weeks to get most of it ........ and just recieved the rear arches today (9weeks). Just kept getting told production
problems, then they were at motor show in London.
Trouble is they have you by the nackers as they are producing the kits so just had to wait!!!
Will see what he says....
By the way i went for orange, thought i would get a bright colour!!!!!!
