First steps taken in fitting the Megajolt today.
Pic 1 - trigger wheel fitted
Pic 2 – VR sensor fitted
Pic 3 – Edis 8 mounted
Pic 4 – Lap top talks to Megajlot via a USB to serial (9pin) adaptor
Now just need to decide on the mounting location for the coils.

Tasty Paul, very tasty - The EDIS runs v hot IIRC so you might need to have something bolted the other side of the GRP to dissapate? I used a heat
sink from an old PC but mines in the engine bay...

Thanks for the comment Neil - Will alter the mounting and fit a heat sink to it.
Off to work now to raid an old computer for a heat sink.

It runs..........
Not done anything to the map or carb yet but it started first time and seems amazingly smooth compared to the dizzy. No hesitation at idle and revs
well without any hint of a misfire over 5500 rpm.
Only one small issue and that’s the idle rpm – on the dizzy it will idle around 650 rpm but lumpy, on eddies it will not drop below 1000rpm but very
smooth.

Over advanced timing at idle will cause an engine to idle on the fast side , thats how Emerald combat stalling on a cold engine. Mel

Idle was at 12 deg btdc on megajolt
normally run about 6 deg btdc on dizzy so this may well be the cure.

Fit the heatsink between the EdiS Unit, and the FiGlass bulkhead. Fitting it with the bulkhead between the sink and the EDIS will have very little or
no effect. The Fi Glass / GRP will be like an insulator.
Use two sheets of Ally, bend into a Long square "U" so the wings sit in fresh air at the side of the Edis unit. so there is somewhere for

If you want to be extra sure, use some heatsink compound between the Edis and the heastink (and between the sink plates if multiplated) This will

I forgot to say, nice kit, where and how much?
Also, I had poor starting, due to not having a 12v feed for the coil when I was using a ballasted coil. A simple relay fixed that, now starts every
time.
Interesting to note its now very smooth.

The car’s all back together and feels really good to drive. I am planning to spend the next week collecting a few hours worth of data logging info so
that I can develop and fine tune a map for the engine.
Also have started to put together a shift light using the outputs from the megajolt. The simple root ( which I may take in the end ) would be to use
the outputs to drive 5 LEDs 3 green one amber and a brighter red one. However I have a daft plan to drive a cluster of red and green LEDs so that it
gets progressively brighter green, Then turns amber and finally bright red.
Once this is done the rest of the winter mods are
1. different pads for the front ( don’t like the willwood smart pads )
2. improve frontal aerodynamics ( carbon mods bits )
3. paint all rusty bits.
4. rolling road tune up in the spring
5. Set cornerweights
edit - all the megajolt kit came from trigger wheels- cost around £350 -yes I know its a lot but everthing was spot on and works. + was going to have
to spend £300 + on a new dizzy coil and leads anyway.
edit - I see trigger wheels have put their prices up since I ordered Mine.

The question is Paul, will you be running 2 maps for your car, 1 map for your original exhaust and another map for your 'replacement'
exhaust. ?
