Helmet Painters

Hi Guys,

Whos had there helmet painted and who have you used? I've had a nice design done and just trying to find the best people for the right price. Contacted:
JLF Designs
Ultimate Airbrush
Nippy
Didi
SFX Designs

Any recommendations??? Waiting to hear back from SFX, but didi are cheapest around £300. Upto £500 for ultimate airbrush and JLF. And all have fairly longish waiting times from 6weeks to 3months....

Oh and any of them to stay away from?

Find your local art college. Couple of six packs and job's done.

Bike Paints Link

I've had a bike painted by them before, but not a helmet. I've seen their helmets in the flesh (steady!) and they look fab!

Thanks for that, will try them, this is the design btw:

I'd imagine that would go very nicely if you drove a car like this...

eddie99 - 7/2/12 at 06:01 PM

Hehe you spotted the car designs as well then

scootz - 7/2/12 at 06:02 PM

I spot everything

PS - I guess you don't fancy moving that chassis on as a roller?

ashg - 7/2/12 at 06:06 PM

doesn't it say on the stickers of helmets not to paint them?

Hehe, What do you think of the designs while we're talking about it, and ideally not as we will be using the hubs/uprights. Sorry

As long as its done properly then its ok, I.e. Correct heats and no paint has touched inner shell....

I've always liked black and yellow schemes... I think that looks smart.

Contact a mate of mine Ian Falkenbridge on ian@endesign.co.uk or 07725 83 22 35
We studied art art college 20 years ago! A great airbrush artist who sadly had to close his company spraying helmets but for cash I am sure would jump at the chance for a new commission.
He's down here in bournemouth.
Mention me, Kevin Cowlard

Cheers
Kevin

Emailed him, Thanks Kevin

No probs. Makes me think about getting my airbrush out again

jeffw - 7/2/12 at 10:30 PM

I have used Ultimate Airbrush for all my helmet paint-jobs (Bike and Car). Richard Carmen is a great guy to work with and very talented.

Anybody do helmet wraps? As long as you have the thing cut in the right places, I don't see how it wouldn't work. That way, you can change for every race, just like Mr. Annoying Finger does.

Digging up an old thread, but finally got it done. Treated myself as a birthday present haha. Here it is:
