Book chassis
Thinking about it - 22/12/09 at 12:32 AM

Who sells Locost chassis, to the book "ish" nowadays?

AndyLockwood - 22/12/09 at 09:09 AM

Talon motorsport sell pre fab chassis.

Try Aries Motorsport in Derbyshire, price for chassis should br around the £450 mark.

The cheapest I know of are:
£495 - Allied Motorsport

The Aries chassis is a lot more at
£575 + VAT (£676 from Jan '10)

Price isn't everything though.

Don't Procomp do a bookish chassis?

LA Locost or something like that - not sure what sort of price though.

Not come across them before, but the prices look very good indeed.

They do and you won't find finer! Its extremely accurate and the geometry is corrected. Hence manufacture takes a long time and you pay for it. If you want the best, its the only place to go.

If I didn't knock up my own, Procomps reputation is second to none. Well worth the pennies.

I think the cheaper chassis are made 'to a price'

Pro Comp Locost chassis is nicely made

The locost was based on a pre-litigation Westfield allegedly. But I don't think Westfield make narrow live axle chassis any more, and post lit ones were different.

hicost blade - 22/12/09 at 02:00 PM

The Locost is a copy of the Wide SE chassis with an extra steel bit welded to the back to support the rear tub and two plate bits on each side to finish and mount the front upper bit of the rear archs (you know the bit I’m talking about)

It’s not quite the same as the Westie because good old Ron wasn’t any good at measuring!

This is from a very good source BTW
