R1 clocks Fahrenheit to celsius
Johneturbo - 24/1/09 at 07:35 PM

I've been searching on a way to change the temp display on my 05 clocks (looks like i've got US spec) i can change from mph to kph

or i'm just gona have to get use to it reading 217f before the fan kicks in!

from what i've read on a R1 forum looks like it may be a jumper on the circuit board.
unlikely but has anyone changed theirs

I can't say about the 05 but I changed my 98 - 99 R1 clock temp by changing the jumper on the circuit board. I got the info from the R1 forum and it worked for me.

Ive used an 06 R1 which is a US model for my donor. I have the instruction manual for the bike which tells you how to operate all the functions on the bike. Nowhere does it mention about changing the temp readout scale.

Also when you power on the bike, and the clocks do the self tests every part of the display is shown. there is no degree C symbol on the clocks. only the degrees F, so i would say that this also confirms there is no way to change it.

I think some more investingmigating is needed then

take away 32
multiply by 5
divide by 9

You actually only need to know 2 numbers,
1) warm enough to give it some
2) the "oh s**t" I better stop before it melts, threshold

So, if it is impossible to fix then it isn't the end of the world.

Just opinion though.

The temp display on my 05 clocks is degrees C and always has been. If you want me to have a look at any jumpers inside the clocks let me know and I'll look for you this evening.

Stu, if you don't mind yes please then i'll compare it to mine.
no hurry mind, as i've still got all them little jobs to do and my sva paperwork has been sent

Again, this may not be the same with your clocks but I had to move a small metal jumper strip using a soldering iron from one set of solder pads to another. It wasn't the plastic type push on jumpers.

I wouldn't have thought they would make 2 diff sets of clocks, so hopefuly mine will be just a de solder jumper somewhere

Well i've just been looking at them (the clocks)
there isn't anything that stands out.
i did take some pics but they haven't come out to well with the reflection on the circuit board!
