Would any 2 stroke engine be suitable? I REALY fancy the idea??
p.s. I know its totaly stupid!!
Thoughts thus far are a kx500 or cr500??

Hmmm. Lots of clutch slipping to get it off the line. Power band so narrow it'll be impracticle. More maintenance than actual driving.

I say do it.

I've got a complete GT250 motor waiting to be rescued if you want it. Either that or I'll put it in my daughters go-kart.

I'd love something like that but she probably wouldn't - still trying to get her to use all of the gears in her current one.

Love the idea, as has been said, it wouldn;t be very practical, but as an exercise it would be interesting.

Only thing I can think of being difficult would be the exhaust, as the expansion chamber is an integral part of the combustion process, might be hard in a different config.

would you use pre mix?

dependant on engine, i would have it exit the bay, and turn to the rear then put in an expansion chamber.

pre-mix, again, dependant on engine.
I think there are far to many IVA issues to deal with to make it a real prospect...
