This is not allowed in the 750mc kit car class?

Hi You are correct . It's not legal. You Have to use the original Or replacement fitment down draft carburettor.

You will still be able to gain simalar top end BHP figures but no where near the same in the mid range as when using twin 40's etc. Class A is now really just down to the V8's and the Duratec engine.

ahh okay, thats a shame. Too piddly for the kit car class and too expensive for the (true) locost class!

Hi What car is it specifically. Live axle IRS. Is it to original book drawings or to another design. What engine box configuration. ( i assume at the moment it has a pinto fitted)

With a bit more info there could be away of getting you out racing. without to many changes possibly.

Cheers Matt

Edit. I should have looked . Is it the dax as mentioned on the left of your post.

Hi there, yes its a 2.1 race spec pinto/type 9 de Dion rush. Doesn't seem to be anything out there at all for it.

I'll have to stick with guest days, although I wont be at all competitive against the bank managers with ferraris!

Hi

There's no reason why it couldn't be run with the down draft carb fitted in class A. I Cant for the life of me think who was the last to run a Pinto engine in kits. But it was a regular in the 5-10 finishing cars. Although the power stakes have risen over the last few years. But would certainly get you out in a competitive environment if you fancy more than track days etc.

There will always be a race to be had somewhere in the field. It just might not be with a guy in the same class. It would be good to see another DAX out there as theres only Andy Sterlings one with the mighty V8. And apparently he is off to another championship with even more power in mind with an LS2 engine fitted last time i spoke to him.

Cheers Matt
