agreed - that is good price, about 1/2 of Machin Mart ask for.

incidentally, I have a used jerry can that would need a patch welded to the base - Free to whoever wants it!!

and yes, it will be safe regarding welding and fumes.

my local petrol station wont let me fill 20l jerry cans. theyll let me fill 2x 5l plastic ones and thats it.

anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, once at tesco... Now i just use my van side door, positioned away from the counter...

Filled 2 x20ltr cans without them knowing...

I have 6 cans now... all off ebay. Never paid over £5 for each

legaly I think your only allowed 2 x 10L cans inside the passenger cabin

but petrol stations have there own policy's on what they'll sell you

I regulary fill up a jerry can at Tesco - is how I fill the Land Rover; once the man in t he control box came out and said I cannot have more than 2 containers of petrol - I had filled 5 l can, 10 l jerry and about to fill naother 10 l jerry.

not had any issues since that one time.

Ive found a lot of infomation that says the max amount your allowed to store (at home?) is two containers, max 10l in metal, 5l in plastic (or one of each).

However i rang leicester police to question it and after a big of rummaging around and asking a traf-pol bloke they said i would be fine with a 25l steel can in the car as long as it was a suitable container with relivent markings 'flamabe liqurd etc'

But yeah, might try and get one for trackdays etc.
- Only need the one and there pushing £20 elsewhere.

Failing that for anyone who wants a few theres sets of 3 for £50 (posted) on ebay.

Never had any problems filling 20l cans up till now. Been watched doing it by the staff with no comment before.

......I've filled 2 jerry cans for each 750MC race for the last 4 yrs & never been challenged - guess I must have an honest (or scary!) face

I suspect that smaller garages will be less worried than chains. Ie if the bloke in the shop is making 20l of profit out of you then he's not that fussed if you look sensible.

Doesn't seem to include a spout.

twybrow - 16/1/09 at 05:50 PM

Some cheap metal snips on there too.... Might be worth a punt for the price.

Danozeman - 16/1/09 at 07:11 PM

Bargain. They have spouts in qd for 2.99.

Ill be there for one or 2..

frodo_monkey - 17/1/09 at 11:59 AM

Bugger, none left when I popped into Aldi - had to go to Machine Mart instead...

But anyway, spouts?! Are you mad?

What you want is a Polarn Pump:

Best bit of kit I take racing by far

They dont, but for £3 i got a cracking flexable spout from the local form shop.
- There gerry cans where £20 when i looked, bought exactly the same from them about five years ago for £13 as the still have the prices on them.
