Hi
I am building a locost to Book with a 1300 crossflow & a Escort rear axle
what spring rates should I be looking for on the shocker front & Back for to racing in the Locost championship
350 and 225
thanks
Hi
At the front it's all a bit dependent on what chassis you have and whether your running ARB's. But 300Lb - 400Lb.
At the rear again it's down to the chassis being used. If you have a chassis using the crappy plastic bushes youll be up on 150Lb but if using
other more compliant bushing you ll be down as low as 100Lb.
But the biggest problem faced is making sure that the dampers are somewhere in the ball park to go with the package. The average off the shelf damper
will have way too much bump leading to you running the damper with virtually no rebound control especially on the rear end. Hence i supply many with a
damper package to suit the application for £335. Or for ill dyno your existing dampers and balance them FOC. To carry speed in the Locost championship
the dampers are quite critical. And be ware of other teams trying to supply the supposedly same as myself but give you off the shelf unmatched un
balanced. Just ask others in the championship.
Cheers Matt
One vote for Matt's set up, it has improved my race results this season.
Thanks
thats great help
