MSA Overall Standards

Hoping someone can clarify some overalls standards for me.

For the Last few years we've been using a some Sparco overalls with the Norme 1986/1986 Standard. Just been reading the 2012 blue book and it doesn't list this standard under the requirements for circuit racing. However, I've not yet had a scruit pick me up on them (750mc) and as the text isn't in red in the blue book it hasn't changed recently.

As they're in very good condition I'd prefer to not have to replace them quite yet but am I going to have problems this year with the BARC?

Cheers
Andy

FAQ on msauk website:
Is the FIA 1986 Standard for overalls be acceptable for use in National Racing?
No. From 1.1.2010 only FIA 8856-2000 overalls are acceptable for National Racing.

So youve been lucky for last 2 years!

Hi.

As above on overalls. BUT have you also noticed that shoes / boots have new regulations also.
It is now mandatory that they be fire proof which then means that they must have the correct ISO or FIA labels on them now. IE Karting and others similar now no longer comply for circuit racing and will now be checked with helmet and suit at scrutineering.

Cheers Matt

Yeh, thanks Matt. Sorted for gloves and boots I think (though me gloves seem to have a split seam )

Any recommendations of overalls!? Needless to say, aiming at the more cost effective end of the market.
