There seems to be a lot of swapping ends for no apparent reason. I like the one that rides over one car and rams the one in front of it. I think a lot of it's down to overenthusiasm, overtaking five cars at once because they are all slowing down and then realising why.

That imbecile in the pale blue car should be banned from all circuits. He can't even drive in a straight line! As for the dark blue car! Is it
something to do with having orange stripes?
I never saw as much carnage before, even when racing off-road in similar powerd open wheel cars.

No it's not typical of 750 races. I made it through 2004 season without hitting anyone, and I only span once (with no damage).
From my point of view it wasn't the 'overly-ambitious overtaking move going wrong' incidents that worried me so much as the
'apparent brake failure' ones.
All sorts of things can and do go on when everyone gets all fired up and racey but the ones where the guy just doesn't seem to brake at all
scare me.
To my mind we're all there to have racing fun without it costing an arm or a leg (metaphorically or literally). There's no fame, glory or
wealth on offer if you win a Locost race so there's just no point in risking your own and other people's lives in pursuit of it. I love
close racing, especially at high speed, but i won't deliberately do anything which will put other people in danger of me hitting them.
How would the guy in the RGB have felt if his crash into those two cars at Oulton had resulted in one of the other drivers being seriously hurt or
killed? If it's mechanical failure then it could just be bad luck but driver error is just not acceptable to that extent.
Sorry to rant but i don't like the idea of someone piling into the back of me at 100mph because they weren't paying attention and forgot to
brake!
In this case the throttle had stuck wide open due to a stone being trapped under pedal (floor mounted).
I have seen the brake master cyclinder push rods - very bent (some serious trying applied)
I have to say that *in my opinion* (non related to above) a certain amount of risk has to be taken in racing - this risk is that of trust in fellow
competitors (have they seen me/anticipate this etc). Which i think 99% of people adhere to - or seemed to last season. I had some good passing/
repassing clean dicing with a number of people.

yeah and what about the clutch and then try to brake???
or what about a kill switch??
come on.. if you gas is stuck then press clutch and brake...and hit the kill switch maybe before to save you engine
but whe are talking about lives...and a car is just a piece of chit who you can change with time a arm a leg or even a piece of ear..you cant...
i have even drivven my car..but i can bet that if i new it would hurt someone i will give it to the scrapyard...

talking of crazy driving i went to watch a few m8's on a track day at donnington park yesterday ,there was a good mix of cars and no major
accidents even tho it was puring it down,but 1 of the goons there should of been banned for the day,,he was the driver of a newish tvr ,all he was
doing for most the day was slowing right down for the bends ,holding every body up and then trying to drift it round,ok it looked good for the first
few bends but after that he was just being a twat,steaming up the straights leaving it very hard for any body else to over take then slowing right
down for the next bend and holding every one up again, he didnt injure any one but he did spoil at lot of folks fun
Jamie, any idea what cameras they use on the cars? Im looking at getting a video camera this year while im earning, and would like to be able to mount it to my car. Some of the on board footage there looks alot better than most on board stuff ive seen before.

Those vids featured me also...luckily one of the partners @ Plays-Kool owns film editing equipment and does ll the editing at home. The cameras record
in DVD quality should anyone wish to view them - i have 3 dvds inclusives of menus which cover 750MC Locost for 2004. In 2005 we plan to make a
'video diary' which should be a larf.
I will enquire as the the exact specs of what equipment you will need. We use 'bullet' cams routed to a recorder within the passenger
footwell - much better/safer than bolting a camera to the roll bar in my opinion.
He he that looks so much fun!!! But a tad expensive for locosters.
