Corner Weights
icecarver - 17/4/07 at 05:07 PM

Hi All
I am very close to completing a Tiger Avon with
a gsxr engine, and have a set of corner scales
avaliable to me.
Can any body suggest a F/R % setup that will
help me on the odd track day.

Many Thanks

Its not a target Front/Rear % weight split you should be looking for. Its more about getting the diagonal weights as close as possible i.e. Front Offside + Rear nearside = Front nearside + Rear offside (it should be done with you or an equivalent weight in the driver seat).

In an ideal World weight be the same across each axle (i.e fronts are the same and rears are the same) but that is very unlikely - especially as you sit on one side of the car!

Before juggling this you need to set your car roughly at the correct ride heights, in particular you need to know roughly what rake front to rear works well on your car. Typically the rear needs to be 10 - 25mm higher than the front.

Hope that helps
