right; with advice have decided i need to remanufacture the front end to bring in to spec and deal with some 'strength' issues...
whilst looking at the chassis, cant help thinking theres other stuff i dont know about yet that i could sort at this stage of the build...
1. any known issues with the 'book' tunnel and gear box mounting?
2. should the ride height be as book?
3. etc...
would really appreciate advice (taking into account competitive edge etc...)
When I got my chassis I had to have some modifications done, that would have been a lot easyer had they been done in the first place. At the rear of
the gearbox tunnel one of the members were missing. It was jig made by a manufacturer. It was the box section that went along the bottom between the
passenger and drivers compartment.
Also, I used a gearbox mount from a type 9 on my type 2 box. I have a plate that sits (welded in) ontop of the box section it bolts onto this, then
has some holes through the floor pan to enable a socket to access the bolts.
Check the regs on the 750mc site it has details of permitted modifications allowed.
