So your sitting on the grid with 40 cars in front on a hot dry summers day and everyone has their rain light on.
How will anyone spot a red light amongst the pack when we all become used to ignoring the colour after the second or third meeting?
Complete madness. No rain light (when its raining) no race. Where the hell is the problem and why start inventing new ones
A Gordon Brown policy
???
It's a crazy rule they should just make them flash when it rains
Oh i get it now
As above

Hi yep it is a crazzzy rule.
But the reason for it is that certain drivers keep switching them off once the race has started in wet weather. So it's not even a prob that can
be dealt with in scruiteneering as the lights actually work but get switched off.
Why the hell anyone should want to switch thier rain light of is beyond me espesialy as it's LED so cant really be consuming any real power. But
then saying that if we where made to run with a 21watt bulb rain light it might mean then that the people who are still cheating with there altenators
would have problems .
So it's a crazzy rule but we have a few idiots to thank for it.
cheers Matt
A black flag usually sorts most things.
Pushing non starting cars to the pitlane may help too.
I have decided to run with my battery terminals tightend in 2008!
Hi I would rather see those that are caught constantly cheating thrown out of the championship.
and leave the rest to get on with it whithout having to have new regs brought in to counteract a few idiots Who think that gaining a 0.2 hp is worth
cheating for.
cheers Matt
Perhaps at the drivers 750mc meeting at south mimms a list of all the suspect areas could be published.
It would help all to police the series and also give people a chance to check cars that they have bought prior to the season starting.
BTW I believe that there are very few out there bending the rules, just some cars are way quicker than they should be.
Having had the only engine to be completely stripped down to nuts and bolts in the last two seasons by the scruits I would like a list too.
Matt, listing some here would be a great start.
Hi No there are not many in the locost formula at all and the rain light issue was with one of the other formulas. But that new regulation was
brought in for all formulas in the 750mc .
Cheers Matt
I have just read the motorsport mag that comes thru from MSA and it says ( in the changes to blue book regs) rain light must be FIA approved, so 2
questions
1) Is the round LED (MSA approved light) that I currently have ok.
2) It does not say the rule change has included must be on at all times, although I know our representative said that was to be Law, so what is the
Law?

Hi the regs regarding rain lights in the 750 are not the same as the general catch all in the book.
750 implemented the use of the LED type before any other club. There was confusion origanly over E marking ect but it has since all been cleared up.
There is a list out some where of the approved lights we are allowed to use. I will find it and paste it here when found.
