I've just brought the front loop and top bars from MK and they are made of CDS tube so unless it was specified on your order i wouldn't think yours would be T45 tube, Its more expensive than CDS.

Sorry cant help with MSA regulations.

hi gaz

i dont have a blue book to hand will check in morning when at work,
but on a standard cage things to check are
1. The rear hoop is mandrel bent ( i.e no signs of necking on bend )
2. Bent at a radius of not less than three times the tubes diametre
3. correct diamter / wall thickness ( off the top of my head 1 3/4 x 14g cds tube with a strength not less than 350nm ) or 38mm x 2.6mm wall you may be asked to provide copies of the material spec sheets issued by the mill who produced the material to prove the material used.

if the cage does not comply to the above then a model of the cage will need to be submitted to mira who will analyse it and decide if its up to the job
the same goes for any cages made that are not as the sizes / materials specified in the bluebook, they will require approval from mira

best regards

marc

Hi also if the cage dose not match any of the designs that the MSA/FIA have. Then it will also have to be submitted to mira for certification.

The MK cage with the front section dose not appear to be as any of the msa/fia designs. And the mounting of the front section the way that they do it as std would certinally not be compliant.

Maybe ask MK if they have any intention of having it certificated. To make it usable for MSA events as it would have to be tested including it's mounting system also.

Cheers Matt

Edit to add

That for RGB championship you don't need to worry about the 5 chassis kits ect as that is only applicable to the kit car championship. Just checked and in RGB there is no mention of five kits required. Are you shure your reading the right regulations. KIT CAR is car engined formula And RGB is bike engined formula.

thanks marc and procomp .have been in touch with MK today and they have registered the chassis and rollcage and got all certification needed all good to go just now dont know whether to keep gsxr or go fireblade

progers - 7/1/08 at 08:19 AM

Keep the GSXR and come join the growing band of class B cars

You'll have more fun in the Gixxer and it will be nice to see how it does against the CBR1000 and R1's already racing.

If you need any info on racing within RGB just give me a shout. I can always put you in touch with someone local to you as well.

Cheers

Will look forward to welcoming you in the paddock - my e-mail is progers63@btopenworld.com if you want to drop me line anytime.

Also have a look at bikecars.co.uk, this is the website for the RGB racers. You can post questions there and introduce yourself to the crowd. There are several racers in and around Yorks/Derby area who would be happy to show you round their cars and answer all those niggling little questions about regs etc.

Cheers

Paul
