I spotted this on blatchat. Not sure if it has been mentioned before.

I hope its true !

I could never see the need to inspect a car that has just been through such a thorough test - if there was anything dodgy about it , wouldnt it have been spotted at SVA / IVA ?

I hope this is true, save me more hassle. I already had mine done but because it's been so long they rang to say they're binning my paperwork and I might need another inspection

What the DVLA are going to trust VOSA's ability to read the engine/chassis numbers?
Anyone would thing they were both part of the same civil service...

I'd be careful of the wording of the question and reply... refers to 'new' kit cars, with a certificate of newness from Caterham.

Will it still apply to donor-based kit-cars?

Agree it's a crazy system though. Had my inspection nearly two weeks ago, they've had the paperwork and payment for nearly 3. Still waiting..........
