Why do you specifically need the hex part?
As opposed to just using 5mm threaded bar and a pair of nuts locked to fit it?

It's for a project that I'm working on, I need to join 2 bearing blocks together. They have tapped holes but they don't go all the way through to the other side. The studs a no go because of this, one side would need to be left hand threaded and the other right handed to pull the blocks together when tightened?

Do a search on Ebay for M5 linkage screw. May be cheaper to have a small batch made by a local machine shop or a fellow locoster for beer vouchers etc

Perhaps these people might be able to help?

MARYLAND METRICS

You'll need some time to go through all their products.

Oh! Sounds complicated!
Is there not a simpler way?
