AFR gauge

I'm looking for a cheap AFR gauge to work with my recently purchased LC1 - does anyone think SMOKED AFR AIR / FUEL RATIO GAUGE SKYLINE PULSAR 200SX | eBay would do the job ?

Looks like the kind that goes on a stock narrowband lambda that just measures lean and rich. If you have an innovate lc-1 you need one that takes a 0v - 5v signal. Innovate do a cheapish one, but its digital and not a dial.

I think they do an analogue one as well?

You can also get the XD-16 (which I have) that is a slightly different design, still digital but has a sweeping set of colours LED's across the top and can also be used with multiple sensors to read other things.

Had to find it to make sure I wasn't lying:

I would advise using one that is reccomended, rather than cheap. If the gauge is rubbish, then no need for the wideband in the first place.

Mind you I have seem someone using an analouge 0-5v volt meter before, which actually worked quite well!!

If you want to be completely custom, make this up:

Coliur the leds such that 2.5v is yellow, lean is read and rich is green...

I like the idea of a simple 0-5v analogue meter, never thought of that,...

Yeah its an easy solution. If you use your laptop to get the base readings from the innvoate you can mark rich lean, and stoic quite easily...

The LED bargraph is much more locust focussed though, custom all the way!

It is possible to pick up cheap palm PDAs on eBay for about £10 or less, I have one mounted on the dash and use it for data logging and it also has a number of displays that will show AFR , air temp , water , revs and most other variables .If you don't want it to be permanent but more for tuning use then it is a cheap option, it may even be possible to incorporate one permanently into the dash as well.

Paul,

What software/hardware are you using for capturing the data, or is it a megasquirt that is obtaining the readings.

For MS we used tuner studio, a Single Board PC and a touch screen to get a nice in car dash

would it be possible to run something like the emerald ecu software on a cheap palm? which i could then look at the live info screen? or what software could you run on one as i know nothing about them, or would a better option be to get a basic notebook?

Will, check this out.

This was done for around £300....

Excuse my crap narrative! This of course is for Tunerstudio, but that is perhaps the most intensive of front ends to run.

If you would like anymore info let me know...

I am logging the output of a mega squirt using palm log, its easier using a palm than having a laptop rattling around in the care and there's no hard drive to damage , the ability to view up to four variables on the screen whilst logging is quite good.
A touch screen pc would be nice in a tin top but not so good as a dash in a seven where it would be a bit vulnerable and subject to a lot of shock and vibration.

As far as I know the palm app I use is only suitable for mega squirt.
