zetec ecu for carbd 2.0l
andy188 - 13/6/12 at 08:51 PM

Hi,

a few questions please, not been on site for a while, moved house etc.
at the moment i am running esc ignition system on 2.0l zetec with bike carbs.

have been offered ecu 92fb-12a650-bc, i belive from other post this is suitable for my 2.0l zetec on bike carbs??

do i need an edis 4 with this?

can i use any 60 pin loom assembly, ie escort, fiesta etc ?

has anyone got a spare, i have 1800 cvh loom which has simmular connetors for some of the sencors etc, but not the 60 pin ecu one?

has any body details of which sencors need conneting etc ?

thanks in advance.

Andy

That code look like a very early eec-iv ? Is there a four letter/number code on a sticker on the plug ?

With non standard add ons, bike carbs, different exhaust manifold and system the standard ecu may not deliver the right ignition curve.
A Megajolt is simple to fit on a Zetec and it is easy to set to the required curve

hi,

wasa, the code on plug is 2fbc.

have looked into megajolt, good at hands on stuff, im not very good on computers etc.

thanks

Andy,

Our new system which is designed to jsut 'work' without a computer or laotop, may be of interest to you. Its not out yet but depending on your time span it may be of use. If you're at Newark pop along and see us on the Dyno.

Hi Andy.

I am interested why the change from the esc ? is it to get a higher rev limit ?

The ecu in your post looks to be the VERY desirable early 1.8 130 spec prepats ecu.
Escort/Orion 1.8 litre 16 Valve 92-93 92FB12A650BC XEF2FBBC 130BHP

You will need an early loom from an escort / orion. Other models/years will be wired on differant pins. You may be able to rewire the plug but this could mean drilling out the plug to take the pins. Dont underestimate the work involved. You wont need an edis4 with this ecu.

Sensors needed would be cps, air/water and tps at least. Full injection would only be O2, Maf, cam phase extra.
I would go the whole hog and go injection with that ecu

The old Megajolt was easy to build and you can " borrow" a map that will be as close as the esc if not better.
Its just not Locost anymore.

........................................................

Mat I would love to get mine on your rollers saturday morning if I can get it there.

Yeah sure thing, we will be going up on the friday night so if anyone is kicking around and after a power run then happy to oblige

I would of thought things would kick off around 10am on Saturday...

hi,

wasa thanks for advise, yes it is for a higher rev limit, allso have read from previous posts the esc map not ideal for the 16v, have been running esc for a year now, concern over carb setup/engine damage etc, was hopping 4 a better ignition map etc before rolling road, what do you think ?

looked at injection, thought it would be more work, ie fuel lines, swirl pot, manifold etc.

have noticed all is not locost these days, still trying to do as much as i can with the help from all on this site.

have tps on my carbs and other sencors on engine.

Matt,

when are you looking at releasing your new system, can not make Newark. hows the testing going?

Andy,

Well we are entering real worl testing at the moment. The unit works very well on the test bench, but I wouldnt like to get it out there stil testing is complete.

There will be a Beta test in the next month or so, then the units will be market ready I hope come July/August.

Be sure to keep in touch though if your project is no further forward come then.

Matt
