Tut tut Mark, what have you been doing?

Kind regards

John

Triton - 31/3/11 at 10:38 AM

It seems that if anyone dares to hint there may be an issue with anything in the book that it gets frowned upon then deleted. We all know the earlier Locost books had issues but every builder helped each other out via LCB to solve them.

yeah I was making a living out of it at one point but I don't these days but still like to help with snippets of info now and then.
I learnt a lot from this forum as I bet others have.
Yeah Uncle Ron may have got a few bits wrong here and there and folk may well have moaned but locosters took that as a challenge to make the car work.

Select few on HAYNES see anything other than what the magic books says as treason and treat it by deleting posts.
Those doing the deleting actually sell parts to builders Handyandy who sells flat pack chassis kits yet controls what is posted in a public forum.....tad iffy you might say.

sorry to rant but it's wound me up a tad as i don't make anything to do with cars all I do is post daft jokes to liven up the haynes graveyard or offer advice gained from experience.

Apparently I have upset someone, who I don't know but I can hazard a guess. I doubt it's Mr G has he hasn't been around for some time, besides he would have a pop back if I had annoyed him...

So the powers that be and who also have a vested interest in making a living out of the haynes roadster have banned me from the "old farts forum"....annoyed me but it's made me laugh as just so childish.

Ben_Copeland - 31/3/11 at 11:07 AM

Oh dear seems a bit petty if that's the reason why...

Is it more or less childish than going on to a related forum and posting libellous comments to try and damage someone's business because of a perceived slight by them? Why don't you do the mature thing and contact them directly?

What do you think Triton said which is libelous?

That's a bit of an OTT reaction, isn't it?

I'd be pee'd off if I suddenly got banned from a forum, and my comments wouldn't have been as polite as this!

Anyway - I think it was entirely due to the dreadful jokes!

The clear reference to Saturn Sports Cars (SSC) being involved in deleting and editing comments on the Haynes forum with the intention to hide faults with the car they build.

This reference to the company has been edited out now on the post.

I'm quite proud to say I'm childish and will never grow up and think god is a load of rubbish and anyone who has met me will no doubt say i'm stupid, daft, swear too much whatever but I don't hide behind a computer screen and I certainly don't delete things I don't like.

It's wrong when someone with a financial interest has full control over what is written, there are others on that forum who make a living from the Roadster yet they get shunned when mentioned....odd that!

If everyone on LCB were banned when they wrote anything other than" I love you" then there would be nobody here!!!

scootz - 31/3/11 at 11:30 AM

I love you...

Triton - 31/3/11 at 11:32 AM

I had a message from Andy H at Saturn telling me handandy has nowt to do with him and would i remove saturn from my post...soooo i read what i put and thought doh! best remove that then as I was under the impression handyandy worked for saturn selling parts. apparently not any more so yep i put me foot in me mouth yet again....

As for libel beggared if i know all i said was moderators with financial interest shouldn't be able to delete posts that don't suit their needs......it's wrong and stinks!!!!

OK I never saw that bit.

It does seem silly to have somebody able to moderate a public forum to there own possible advantage, even if they don't do it they are still open to the accusation that they have.

Davie

A little old man totters into a chemist for some viagra. "I need them cut into quarters" he says.
The chemist replies.. "a quarter tablet will not give you a full erection".
The old man says "I'm 96 dear & I don't have much use for an erection, I just want it sticking out far enough to stop me p*ssing on my slippers".

So would that make you the teaspoon?

PS - Yes, I will unwrap your tunnocks teacakes... I'll even nibble off the biscuity-base so all you're left with is the soft fluffy bit!

A dog is truly a man's best friend. If you don't believe it, try this simple experiment...
Put your dog and your wife in the boot of your car for an hour.....

When you open the boot, see who is happiest to see you!

scootz - 31/3/11 at 11:58 AM

... is this what they refer to as 'spamming a thread'???

Daddylonglegs - 31/3/11 at 12:02 PM

Benzine - 31/3/11 at 12:22 PM

A man is stranded on a desert island, all alone for ten years. One day, he sees a speck in the horizon.
He thinks to himself, "It's not a ship." The speck gets a little closer and he thinks, "It's not a boat." The speck gets even closer and he thinks, "It's not a raft."

Then, out of the surf comes this gorgeous blonde woman, wearing a wet suit and scuba gear.
She comes up to the guy and she says, "How long has it been since you've had a cigarette?"

"Ten years!" he says.

She reaches over, unzips a waterproof pocket on her left sleeve and pulls out a pack of fresh cigarettes. He takes one, lights it, takes a long drag and says, "Man, oh man! Is that good!"

Then she asks, "How long has it been since you've had a drink of whiskey?"

He replies, "Ten years!"

She reaches over, unzips her waterproof pocket on the right, pulls out a flask and gives it to him. He takes a long swig and says, "Wow, that's fantastic!"

Then she starts unzipping this long zipper that runs down the front of her wet suit and she says to him, "And how long has it been since you've had some REAL fun?"

And the man replies, "My God! Don't tell me you've got a motorcycle in there!"

Two eggs boiling in a pan, one male and one female. The female egg says "Look, I've got a crack" .."No good telling me" replies the male egg "I'm not hard yet"
