bertie_bas205 - 29/10/11 at 06:25 AM

I have trawled all the local rags and breakers yards, I am damned if i can find a Sierra!!!!

Everything on the bay are miles down south....

Time to run about the countryside today to see if theres anything lying about.....

On the upside i now have a gearbox.......

I have a 1.8cvh estate if you are interested and i am in scotland.

Funny that, I got mine in May and spent a few months looking around for one and the most I found were in Scotland which was too far to travel.

Just keeping looking on fleebay and one will come up which will hopefully not be too far away.

I saw a couple when I was driving past a breakers yard in Santorini. Not sure how you are going to get one back though.

Was out on the mountain bike a while ago and up a one track road there was a little house with a white 5 door sierra under the car port
Looked quite tidy from a distance tbh

So their still out there...

Keep passing those on the way to the Triumph Club meeting at Barnoldswick..
Still can't figure what the hell he's doing with em all, there never seems any change there all just sat there!

Unless he's just waiting for donors to become that rare, but I think he's missed the boat there with the number of new mx5 and BMW kits coming onto the scene.

There's an advert for one on the notice board at CBS I think its a 18LX? for not a lot of money

i remember seeing a thread on here a little while back where a guy had a whole forecourt full of sierras, as fetishes go it seemed a bit odd, as they didn't seem to be fancy or exotic ones, just common all garden jobs.

I called in a couple of years ago to see what was going on, he had a couple of indy builds on the go, but not much else.
He wasn't keen on selling any bits but eventually did, he wasn't cheap.
Seemed like a hobby to me, it definitely didn't look like a self-sustaining business.

Strange.

Well after hours and plenty of miles running about the countryside i now have front hubs, rear hubs, shafts (Bolt on's), propshaft and diff....

And after all those miles i got them from a friend of my Mam's about a mile away......

Now, I have a question.....

The front hubs are from a 2WD sierra so no probs there...

The rear set up is from a 2ltr 4x4, is the diff LSD like the 2.8/9 ones???

Interesting - I've been meaning to call in there for ages but never get round to it. His website reads like its a proper business but speak to people in our area with 7's etc and nobody really knows anything about them.

I've rung him a couple of times and tbh he was very helpful, offering to ring round people he knew etc (was trying to source crank pulley and key for a 1600cvh over a weekend).
